AHOSKIE, NC – Jeanette Mitchell Davis, age 71, passed away on April 1, 2016 at the Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.

Miss Davis was born in Bertie County on May 13, 1944, a daughter of the late Lewis T. and Jeanette Mitchell Davis.

Jeanette is survived by her sister, Elma D. ”Dixie” Jernigan of Virginia Beach, VA; a nephew, Jeffrey Dale Jernigan and a niece, Paula Jernigan Bush, both of Virginia Beach, VA; a great nephew, Brett Dale Jernigan; three great nieces, Abigail Faith Jernigan, Hailey Amber Bush; and Ashley Paige Bush; and numerous cousins.

A graveside celebration of life memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at 11:00 am at the Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery, Lewiston Woodville, NC, with Rev. Greg Hurdle, officiating.
