CONWAY – Anne Rice Holloman Lassiter, age 93, died peacefully at her home in Conway on Saturday, April 2, 2016.

Anne was born on July 15, 1922 in Aulander, North Carolina to the late Spurgeon Otis Holloman and Annie Rice Holloman. She was blessed with one sister, Jean and four brothers, Quinn, Lawton Lee “Lefty”, Spurgeon, Jr. “Sargent”, and Joe, all of whom are deceased.

Anne graduated from East Carolina in 1944 and began her teaching career in Conway, NC. During that first year she met Marion Lassiter. They married in 1945 and enjoyed 64 years together filled with music, dancing, sports, traveling, and family. They had two children, a son, Joe Lassiter who is married to Kathy, and a daughter, Judy Shroats, who is married to Dave.

Anne was an active member of the Conway United Methodist Church for over 70 years. She was also an avid bridge player, playing in several bridge clubs in the area. She was a charter member of the Conway Woman’s Club, member of the North Carolina Historical Society for many years, and she also belonged to the Kirby Music and Literary Club, always looking forward to their monthly meetings.

Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the loves of her life. She was “Nana” to grandchildren, Jeremy, Lauren, Ian, Emily, and Evan, and her great grandchildren, Aiden, Avery, Marion, and Harrison.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7, at 2 p.m. at the Conway United Methodist Church. Following the service there will be a visitation with the family in the church Fellowship Hall.

Miss Anne and her family would like to express their love and gratitude to Elaine Manley and her family for their love, support, dedication, and faithfulness to our family for so many years. You are a blessing to us and so many others.
