AULANDER, NC – Rosalyn Carol Skeens, age 77, died on February 4, 2016 at the Vidant Inpatient Hospice of Greenville, NC.

Mrs. Skeens was born in Norfolk, VA on April 3, 1938, a daughter of the late Charles Thomas and Virginia Byrum Windley. She was a member of Lawrence Baptist Church in Windsor, NC, and a homemaker.

Besides her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a son, Mark Skeens.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Bobby Skeens of the home; her son, Dennis Skeens of Aulander, NC; her daughter, Amy S. Biggs of Raleigh, NC; and a brother, Wayne Windley of Portsmouth, VA.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 7, 2016, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC and other times at the home.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016, at 11:00 am at the Garrett Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, with Rev. Greg Hurdle, Rev. Terry Stockman, and Rev. Bob Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens at 1:30 pm on Monday.
