JACKSON – Stanley Willie Vaughan, 77, passed away on Sunday, February 22 surrounded by family and friends. Stanley was born April 21, 1937 in Potecasi to W.F. and Della Colston Vaughan.

Stanley was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Creeksville Baptist Church where he was affectionately known as “The Candy Man” by all the children. He was President of Farmer’s Mutual Insurance (now Alliance Mutual Ins.) of Rich Square for over 30 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Peggy Babb Vaughan; son, Stanley Keith Vaughan and wife Edna of Knoxville, TN; daughter, Brenda Vaughan Jernigan and husband David of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren Danielle Vaughan, Dustin Vaughan and wife Emily, Matthew Jernigan, Steven Jernigan and Riley Jernigan; great-grandson Hudson Keith Vaughan; several nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Massey Funeral Home, Jackson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. at Creeksville Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Sloan and the Rev. Johnny Richards officiating.
