Susan C. Hedgepeth

COMO – Susan Crosno Hedgepeth, 65, of Como passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA.

Born in San Bernardino, CA, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Helen Thompson Crosno. Susan was the former Captain of the Como Rescue Squad with over 25 years of service. She was a member of Buckhorn Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 49 years, Hurley G. Hedgepeth, Jr.; three sons, Bill, David and Phillip Hedgepeth, all of Como; two sisters, Phyllis Archer of Gates County, and Dolly Anderson of Morehead City; a brother, Robert Harvest of Morehead City; five grandchildren, Tiffany, Shannon, Whitney, Dalton and Drake; and one great-grandchild, Aubree.

A funeral was held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, VA, with the Rev. John Ashley and the Rev. Jan Dickens officiating. Burial followed in Buckhorn Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Kathy Worrell, 717 Fairview Dr., Franklin VA 23851.
