EURE – Louis Rawls Pearce, Jr., 61, of 87 Corner High Road, Eure, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in his home.

Mr. Pearce was born in Nash County on December 7, 1952 and was the son of the late Louis R., Sr. and Juanita Kirkland Pearce.  A retired carrier with the US Postal Service in Murfreesboro, he was a member of Meherrin Baptist Church, American George Masonic Lodge #17, the York Rites Bodies in Elizabeth City, and the Sudan Temple of the Shrine in New Bern.

Surviving are his sister, Joan Pearce Long and husband Steve of Eure; two brothers, Richard Thomas Pearce and wife Karen of Moyock, and Patrick Graham Pearce and wife Rhonda of Kinston; three nieces, four nephews, and many other extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 25 at 11:00 a.m. in Meherrin Baptist Church by the Rev. Josh Parsons. Friends may join the family Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the home of Joan and Steve Long, 120 Taylor Mill Road, Eure.

Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
