AULANDER – Mary Gower Davidson, age 98, of Aulander passed away on April 12, 2014 at her residence.

She was born on September 10, 1915 to the late Walton and Eva Green Gower in Raleigh, NC. Mrs. Davidson dedicated her life to her family and making sure they were taken care of. She loved life and was an inspiration to all those she came in contact with. She loved flowers especially an Amaryllis bulb. Mrs. Davidson loved her church and was dedicated to her church family as well.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Earl Davidson; her daughter, Jackie Lou Davidson; two sisters; one brother; and one great-great granddaughter.

Mary is survived by her son, Douglas Davidson and his wife, Betty, of Aulander; her daughter, Judy Cullipher and her husband, Melvin, of Aulander; along with five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and two nieces.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the AulanderBaptistChurch, Aulander, NC, with the Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home of her daughter, Judy.
