CHESAPEAKE, VA – Mary M. Spruill, 89, of Virginia Beach, VA, went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2014.

Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Murray and Lena Lewis. Mary was also predeceased by her loving husband, Harrell Spruill; and her four brothers, Clifton Lewis, Harold Lewis, Daniel C. Lewis, and Ronald Lewis.

Survivors include her three sons, Harrell Spruill, Jr. of Martinsville, VA, John Spruill and his wife, Carolyn, of Achilles, VA, and George Spruill and his wife, Barbara, of Murfreesboro, NC; three grandchildren, Christina Hatchell, David Spruill and his wife Rebecca, and Kenneth Spruill; one great-grandchild, Julia Spruill; and a brother, Murray Lewis, Jr. She also leaves behind many extended family members.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kings Grant Baptist Church, 873 Little Neck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23452 and Murfreesboro United Methodist Church, 313 East High St., Murfreesboro, NC 27855.
