COLERAIN – Linda Joyce Parnell, age 64, passed away on December 29, 2013 at Down East Health & Rehab Center in Gatesville.

Linda was born December 17, 1949 in Bertie County, the daughter of the late Lymon Woodrow Byrum and Hilda Vinson White Byrum.

Survivors include her son, Andy Eure (Melinda) of Askewville; her daughter, Cathy Pierce (Doug) of Colerain; her six grandchildren, Frances, Joseph Paul, Elizabeth, Joseph, Christen and Christopher; her great grandchild, Drake McKeel; and her brother, Carlton Lee Byrum of Colerain.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Windsor Cemetery in Windsor with the Rev. Jimmy Gerald officiating.

The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home in Aulander on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and other times at the home of Cathy Pierce in Colerain.
