Three Roanoke-Chowan area teams made the NC High School Athletic Association football playoffs as of Saturday’s seeding. The trio will begin their championship run this Friday night.

Only one team will have a home game. Two Rivers Conference member, Northampton County (8-3, #3 seed), will host Columbia (5-6, #6 seed) from the Coastal-10.  Meanwhile, Northeastern Coastal Conference member, Hertford County (6-5, #13 seed) and another Coastal-10 team, Gates County (4-7, #7 seed), will both hit the road as the Bears travel to South Granville while the Red Barons go to Wallace-Rose Hill.

In other games: top-seed 1AA seed Plymouth hosts Creswell, Northside at Manteo, East Columbus at North Edgecombe and Rocky Mount Prep at Southeast Halifax.

1AA games have Spring Creek at top-seeded Tarboro, East Carteret at Camden, and Perquimans at Riverside.

In another 2AA game, East Duplin is at Currituck while in 2A West Bladen visits top-seed Northeastern and Midway is at Edenton JA Holmes.
