AHOSKIE – Raleigh Rudolph Harmon, age 81, died Friday, September 13, 2013, in his home.

Mr. Harmon was born on April 7, 1932 in Northampton County, a son of the late Amos and Pattie Sue Baggett Harmon.

He was a member of Early’s Baptist Church and was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Angela Harmon of Charlotte; and Pat Wiley, also of Charlotte.

Besides his parents and siblings, Raleigh was predeceased by his loving wife, Hazel Marie Baggett Harmon, in 2011.

A graveside celebration of life service will be conducted on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in Highland Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Ronald McSwain officiating.

The family will receive friends at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, on Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at his home.
