Lina Bell Dunlow Jernigan, age 80, died Friday, August 16, 2013 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC.

Mrs. Jernigan was born in Bertie County on October 11, 1932, a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Settle Leary Dunlow. She was a member of Askewville Bethel Assembly of God Church and was a homemaker. Lina was an unassuming person and was totally devoted to her family.

Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Betty Castelloe and husband, Jim, of Windsor; her brother, Jake Dunlow of Windsor; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Jernigan was predeceased by her husband, Vernon Lee Jernigan; her sisters, Vivian, Casteen, May and Dathel; and her brothers, Grady and Robert, Jr.

A graveside service was conducted on Monday, August 19, 2013 in the JerniganFamilyCemetery, Exter Rd., Colerain, by the Rev. R. O. Denton, Jr.

Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, handled the arrangements.
