AHOSKIE – Macie Roberta Rhea, age 87, of Ahoskie passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Creekside Manor in Ahoskie. Macie was born April 28, 1926 in Bertie County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late George Dunning and Sally Ann Hall Dunning. Macie worked many years as a nurse aide.

Survivors include her husband, Horace Floyd Rhea of Ahoskie; her two daughters, Joann Casper Harrell (Jesse) of Ahoskie, and Sandra Kaye Parker of Ahoskie; her two sons, Lloyd Stevenson Casper (Sallie) of Henderson, NV and Jack Dunning Casper (Robin) of Woodland; her two sisters, Nancy Dunning Conner of Aulander and Marian Dunning Dilday (Henry) of Ahoskie; and one brother, George Dunning, Jr. (Jean) of Florida; and also many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Massey Funeral Home in Aulander, which is handling the arrangements, with the Rev. J N Baggett officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Ahoskie.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. and other times at the home of Marian Dilday in Ahoskie.
