AHOSKIE – The Ahoskie Police Department is seeking two suspects involved in a break-in at Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers early Friday morning.

Police Chief Troy Fitzhugh said the break-in was reported at 6:15 a.m. when the first employee of the Memorial Drive restaurant arrived for work. Entry was gained through a window on the drive-thru side of the building.

“There was an attempt made to break into the safe, but that was unsuccessful,” Fitzhugh said. “There was property damage to the safe, the building and to one security camera.”

However, video footage from a second camera showed the suspects entering the restaurant at 4:15 a.m., Fitzhugh said.

Both suspects were said to be black males, one light skinned with a medium to short afro haircut while the other was described as medium to heavy set.

“That’s all we have to go on at this time,” Fitzhugh said.

Those with information on this crime are urged to contact APD Detective Sgt. Stephen White at 252-332-5011.
