COLUMBIA, SC – A visitation for Miriam Freeman Rawl, wife of the late Francis L. Rawl, will be held from 3-4 p.m. on Sunday July 7, 2013 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, in Columbia, SC.

Miriam passed away Sunday June 30, 2013.

Born June 25, 1923 in Bertie County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Reginald B. and Sadie Myers Freeman.  Miriam grew up in Ahoskie, N.C. and was a member of Mill Creek United Methodist Church in Columbia, SC.

She  is survived by her daughter, Penelope E. Rawl; sons, Francis L. Rawl Jr. and his wife, Rebekah, and Lane F. Rawl, all of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Francis L. Rawl III, Callison and Bess Rawl; great-grandchildren, George and Margaret Rawl; brother, Reggie Freeman of Columbia, SC; and sister, Betsy F. Skipper of Union. Miriam was predeceased by her sister, Penelope F. Ware.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mill Creek United Methodist Church, 1041 Old Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC  29209 or Columbia College, 1301 Columbia College Drive, Columbia, SC  29203.
