Cameron M. Hoggard Sr.

WOODLAND – Cameron Morrison Hoggard, Sr. age 90 of 796 Hwy 35 Woodland, passed away at his home on June 19, 2013.

Cameron was born November 1, 1922 in Bertie County, the son of the late Willie Luther “Pete” Hoggard and Maggie Dempsey Hoggard. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a retired farmer and a retired employee at Parker Manufacturing Company in Woodland. Cameron was also a member of Woodland Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dora Mae Hoggard; his second wife, Annelore Jordan Hoggard; a son, Billy Hoggard; and a daughter-in-law, Donna F. Hoggard.

Survivors include two sons, Cameron M. Hoggard Jr. of Aulander, and Jesse D. Hoggard and wife, Susie, of Benson, NC; three daughters, Shirley H. Stephenson and husband, Tony, of Winton, Ethel Mae Knowles and husband, Richard, of Murfreesboro, and Julia H. Jenkins and husband, Luther, of Milwaukee; a half-sister, Marie Caldwell of Salem, NC; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, four step-children, Robbie Jordan, Rita Shaffer, Rose Smith and Rhonda Braswell; 11 step-grandchildren and 13 step great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Cameron Hoggard will be held Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Massey Funeral Home in Aulander with the Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating. Interment will be held private at a later date.

The family will receive friends at Cameron’s home, 796 Hwy 35 Woodland, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Baptist Church.
