AULANDER – Frona Sullivan Skeens, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Kindred Health Care in Ahoskie.

Mrs. Skeens was born on August 20, 1920 in McCarr, Kentucky to the late Floyd Sullivan and the late Sarah Miller Sullivan. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, and a homemaker.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bobby Skeens and wife, Carole, of Aulander, John Skeens and wife, Ann, of Ruby, SC, and Ray E. Skeens, Jr. and wife, Lea, of Aulander; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Skeens; a daughter, Barbara Caudill, and siblings.

A celebration of life service will be conducted Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service of Ahoskie with the Rev. Greg Hurdle officiating.  Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, VA.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening, May 31, 2013 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
