To the Editor:

For the safety of citizens leaving the front entrance of Vidant RCH and for those traveling on Academy Street, I have requested a large yellow arrow be painted on the street exit in front of the hospital indicating to turn RIGHT ONLY.

Many times I see left turns being made and have seen many accidents happen because of drivers who pay no attention to the NO LEFT TURN sign that is located just before the exit onto the busy intersection directly in front of the hospital.

I appreciate the opinion column in the News Herald on May 4th that there are also other intersections that need freshly marked signs to help keep us more safe.

Thanks, Joe for writing on behalf of all of us who travel the streets of our town. Hopefully, the right people will see that this is quite a necessary need for Ahoskie….The Only One!!!
