ROANOKE RAPIDS – Rockie Flythe Byrum, 81, of Roanoke Rapids died Sunday April 28, 2013 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Byrum was born in Northampton County, the daughter of the late Virgil Pruden Flythe and Eva Banty Flythe. She was homemaker and mother.

Surviving are a daughter Ann Byrum of West Point, VA; three sons, William Wayne Flythe and his wife, Pat, of Riverton, Utah, Carl R. Wheeler and his wife, Charmie, of Seaboard, and Thomas Earl Byrum and his wife, Barbara, of Roanoke Rapids; eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the chapel of Wrenn Clarke & Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service on Sunday, May 5, 2013. Interment followed in Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends at the home of Carl Wheeler, 8408 US Highway 158, Seaboard.
