Theresa Jean Daughtry

KILL DEVIL HILLS – Theresa Jean Daughtry passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at home in her family’s arms.

Theresa was born March 5, 1956 to Calvin and Barbara Daughtry and was raised in Lasker where she graduated from Northeast Academy in 1974.

Theresa was a longtime resident of Manteo and the Outer Banks. Theresa touched countless lives through her many happy, loyal years of employment with the Island Pharmacy in Manteo. Until the later stages of her illness, Theresa also enjoyed attending Mount Olivet Church in Manteo. Theresa was a talented seamstress and loved giving her unique fabric creations to her family and friends.

Left to cherish Theresa’s memory are her parents, Calvin and Barbara Daughtry of Lasker; her husband, Ernest Hall of Kitty Hawk; one daughter, Amanda Lassiter and husband, Taylor Ostlund, of Kill Devil Hills; one step-daughter, Erica Taylor of Jacksonville; two brothers Pete (Sandra) Daughtry of Charlottesville, VA and Jeff (Sandy) Daughtry of Conway; two granddaughters, Teresa Ostlund and Aubrey Taylor; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members; her Mount Olivet Church family and countless dear friends, and her Island Pharmacy coworkers and customers.

Theresa was known for her beautiful smile, kind words and bubbly personality that could remedy anyone’s bad day. Theresa had a gift for making people feel important and special. Lifelong treasures and memories of her will forever be in our hearts and her strength and courage are an inspiration and guiding light to all who knew her.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, located at 300 Ananias Dare Street in Manteo. The family also gratefully suggests that memorial donations be made to any cancer charity of your choosing. Thank you all for the prayers, support and love that helped guide her to an eternal life of peace and comfort.
