WINTON – One individual is behind bars while three others are on the lam following a home invasion here that left a victim seeking medical attention for his injuries.

According to Hertford County Sheriff Juan Vaughan, Amber Shannon Moore was arrested Feb. 1 for allegedly playing a role in the violent home invasion. She was jailed under a $30,000 bond on the charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit first degree burglary.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Shaquille O’Neil Carter and Juron Da’Sha Greene. Upon their arrest they will be charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, and first degree burglary.

Vaughan said a juvenile is also being sought in connection with this case. A juvenile petition has been issued.

“We are asking for the public’s help to help locate these two males and the juvenile,” Vaughan said. “If you know of their whereabouts, please contact our office at 358-7800. We need to get these individuals off the street just in case they have plans to commit a similar crime.”

That crime in Winton on Jan. 24 turned bloody, according to the report filed by HCSO’s Scott Cofield. There, the victim, 25-year-old Corey Reynolds, was at home on West Jordan Street at around 6 p.m. when there was a knock at the door. Moore was at the door and was allowed inside by Reynolds.

Approximately five seconds later, Reynolds informed Cofield that three to four subjects, wearing black masks and dark clothing, entered the residence.

“One of the suspects grabbed Mr. Reynolds and placed him in a choke hold until he lost consciousness,” Cofield wrote in his report. “Mr. Reynolds stated that he regained consciousness to find that he had been hit in the head and face with a glass from his kitchen. There was duct tape on his left wrist and forearm and that his Playstation system (valued at $350) was stolen.”

Cofield further stated that upon his arrival Reynolds was bleeding profusely from his face and head and that his t-shirt was covered in blood. Reynolds informed Cofield that he did not recognize any of his assailants’ voices.

Upon questioning Moore, Cofield said that she advised him she was knocked to the floor by the suspects when they entered the residence. She then ran out of the residence and across the street. She added that she noted, “three guys running” (from the residence).

Hertford County EMS arrived on the scene and transported Reynolds to Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
