GREENVILLE – Mrs. Carolyn Neville Edmondson, 72, passed away January 7, 2013.

The funeral service will be conducted Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Winterville Baptist Church.  A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. in Rocky Mount Memorial Park, Rocky Mt., NC.

Mrs. Edmondson, a native of Nash County, lived her early life in the Benvenue community of Rocky Mount and was a graduate of Benvenue High School.  After her marriage in 1965 to Rev. C.T. Edmondson, a Baptist minister, they served churches in Wake Forest, NC, Engelhard, NC, Skipwith, VA, Wise County, VA, Deltaville, VA and Powellsville, NC.

Prior to retirement in Powellsville, Carolyn was employed as a secretary for Action Reality in Ahoskie, NC. She had made her home in Greenville since 2002 and was a member of the Winterville Baptist Church.  With the calling of her late husband to the ministry she also felt called and spent her life in Christian ministry.

Mrs. Edmondson was preceded in death by her husband in 2002.

She is survived by her daughter, Deanna E. Cooke and husband, Tony, of Greenville; and was the beloved “Mimi” of a grandson, Daniel Charles Cooke, of Greenville; sister, Marie Brown and husband, Mike, of Washington, NC; she loved all her family and was also survived by many dear in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, and very dear friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 10 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Greenville.
