SEVERN – Dalton Earl Edwards, Sr., 70, died peacefully on Thursday, January 3, 2013 surrounded by his family.

He was born to the late Eddie D. and Viola Britt Edwards and was preceded in death by his nephew, R.K. Barrett.

He was a lifelong resident of Severn and a member of Severn Baptist Church. Known to some as “Root Doctor” or Buddy, he had a life long love for farming, antique cars, tractors, barbecue, and NASCAR.

He is survived by his four children, Dalton Earl Edwards, Jr. (Dal) and wife Marie, Guy Edwards and wife Windy, Jennifer Fowler, and Emory Edwards and wife Chrissy. He has seven grandchildren, Whitley, Quin, Braxton, Aiden, Addyson, Tom, and Griffen. He was also survived by his sister, Martha Barrett and husband Tommy; his niece, Valerie Pearce and husband Graham; and his great nieces, Reese and Presley.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the Severn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5 at Massey Funeral Home in Jackson.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Severn Volunteer Fire Department or Severn Baptist Church.
