Hey Hawks Fans!

New Chowan athletes are on the rise, while returning Hawks are continuing their hard work in order to lead their teams to victory!

Antonio Carrabotta shined for the Chowan men’s soccer team when he scored the only goal in the contest against Greensboro College Pride recently.

The match was tied until the 71st minute of play when Sean Courtney scored with an assist from Mark Wleh for Greenboro.

The CU men and women’s cross country teams gave it their all at the CIAA Cross Country Championship in Cary this past week. The men took eighth place while the women came in at fifth place.

Cindy Ehrich of the CU Volleyball team was recently named CIAA Rookie of the week for the third time this season.

She earned her honor for her performance against Shippensburg University; she collected 14 digs in the match up. She currently leads the Hawks with 275 digs on the season while averaging 4.17 per set.

Despite the 109 rushing yards that Elliot Smalls collected for the CU football team in the match up against Elizabeth City State University it just wasn’t enough to help the Hawks soar over the Vikings. Smalls led the offense with 23 carries as well.

Cameron Stover linked up with six receivers to collect 165 passing yards on the afternoon, completing 13-of-26 passes.  Antjuan Randall was at the successful end of five of those passes in route to 68 receiving yards.  Ryan Nolan led the receivers with 74 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Unfortunately, it just wasn’t in the cards for the Hawks this time as they fell to the Vikings with a final score of 47-21. The Hawks are 4-4 overall and 3-2 in CIAA play; but still deemed as the team who made history.

Emily Cross was the hot shot of the Chowan University’s women’s soccer team when they defeated Lincoln University 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. Cross scored two goals for the Hawks while Jennifer Harvell collected 8 saves.  Chowan is now 2-13 on the season.

GO HAWKS!
