SUFFOLK, VA – Alverta B. Lowther, 79, of Suffolk, VA died Friday, September 28, 2012 at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, VA. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Howell – Collins Cemetery. Hunter’s Funeral Home, Gates, is handling the arrangements.
