Gates rolls in round one

GATESVILLE – Gates County High School scored 33 points in the first half Friday night and rolled to a 35-10 win over Dixon High School.

The win for the Red Barons was their second straight North Carolina Athletic Association 1-AA opening round  playoff win. They advance to next week’s second round.

Hertford County High School meanwhile suffered a 49-0 setback at the hands of Havelock in the first round of the 3-A playoffs.

    I’m not trying to make anyone mad. The Barons are one of the #1′s in the state especially when it comes to sports. I was and still am proud to be a Baron.
