Willie H. Mitchell Jr., 69, of Oak Drive, Lewiston, died Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.
A native of Bertie County, he was a member of Woodville Plains Baptist Church- Lewiston, and a retired truck driver with Perdue Inc.
Survivors include his children, Willie H. Mitchell I and Joseph Mitchell, both of Virginia, Tanya Jordan of South Carolina, Norris Gilliam of Maryland, Yusandra Holley, Delicia Gilliam, Eric Gilliam, Barbara Gilliam, Melissa Harris, Antonio Gilliam, Tonya Gilliam, Gerard Gilliam, Erika Bazemore, Coretta Gilliam and Shawn Bazemore, all of North Carolina; a sister, Verna Bazemore of Lewiston; and 34 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, Jan. 6 at Woodville Plains Baptist Church with the Rev. Letitia Bazemore officiating. Burial will be in the Veale Family Cemetery, Lewiston.
